A new compelling global sports series will break cover later this year and its success will rely on the capable stewardship of its live television, social media and media relations output managed by a capable sports PR account manager.
With ten stops on an international calendar across Asia, the Americas, Europe and Australia, you’ll be leading a team that will connect all aspects of content and messaging and engage audiences from fans to sponsors and sustainability advocates.
As well as launching the series later this year, the team you build will also manage the championship press office, oversee accreditation and the management of attending media and in a busy media centre servicing the international press corps.
Between events, the PR team will be responsible for building the global profile of the series to support the commercial objectives of attracting premium athlete talent, building fan community, attracting bids from new host locations to expand the calendar, growing the appeal of the live television offer, assisting the recruitment of partners and sponsors and communicating an ambitious sustainability and legacy programme.
This is a role for an experienced sports PR practitioner with an interest in leading the communications for a new, disruptive sporting format. As such, this is a rare clean sheet opportunity to develop an integrated approach to communications without legacy constraints.
Alongside leadership of this brief, the role includes some senior leadership contribution to Whistle’s other varied sports engagements including athlete PR and sponsorship activation in Formula 1 and other international sports categories.
